If you grew up in Chicago, like me you can remember those winter mornings when you would wake up and there would be a couple feet of snow on the ground. As soon as you see the snow you would turn on WGN radio and listen to the school closing announcements in hopes that they would include your school. And if they said your school was closed for the day it was like winning the lottery. Well, if getting an extra day off school is like winning the lottery then my son Josh won the lottery five times this week! We got the news on Monday that Gregory Middle School had a water main break and there was so much damage that there will be no school all week. So, Josh has been sleeping in; hanging out with friends and generally pretending that it is summertime! And the best news of all – they found out they will not have to make it up.
